Pat Nevin has blasted the tabloid rumours linking us with a move for St Mirren's Ludovic Roy and Barry McLaughlin.  He said:
"There is absolutely no truth in these stories and Motherwell have made no approach in connection with these two.  Everyone is well aware that we need to strengthen in the summer and Billy has identified the players he wants to bring in, but Barry and Ludovic are not in his plans."

Motherwell's youngsters are set to be given their chance in the remaining five games of the season.  Pat Nevin said:
"Billy has given the youngsters a chance to prove what they can do and, the way the league has worked out, it also means they gain some vital experience.  Players like Jamie McFadden, who has done really well, Stephen Pearson, Brian Dempsie and the young goalkeeper Jon Connolly are all desperate to get a run in the team and the manager could give them a chance over the remaining five games to show what they can do."

Looking forward to Saturday's game with St Johnstone, a mere fortnight after the sides last met, Pat said:
"Obviously, it is not great and we could have done with playing someone else because there is the danger it can all get too familiar.  St Johnstone have yet to beat us this season and we want to defend that record, as well as trying to finish as high up the table as possible."
