Benito Kemble will be the next player to leave Fir Park after giving up all hope of being offered a new contract.  Speaking in today's Evening Times, the Dutch defender says:
"I have been waiting on either the chief executive Pat Nevin or manager Billy Davies to approach me about a new contract, but that hasn't happened.  It's not for the player to ask the club, and it seems as though they no longer want me. However, they've said nothing to me.  I didn't want to leave the club as I enjoy it at Motherwell and also playing in Scotland, but I will now have to look at other options elsewhere. I have my family to think about and I need to start looking to find another club."

Kemble hasn't been involved with the first team recently, and added:
"I´ve played two games for the Under-21s but I never made the top team bench on Saturday which I found strange."

Pat Nevin believes that switching the live SKY matches from Sunday nights to Friday nights would help increase attendances.  He said:
"It is not easy when you have two big clubs on your doorstep but I really enjoyed playing on a Friday night during my five years with Tranmere and I think the fans enjoyed it, too.  There was a special atmosphere because it was the start of the weekend and I think it will prove more popular than the Sunday night at five-past six.  I have been in discussions with the police on countless occasions and every time they have come back saying 'no'. I can understand their position but surely Sundays are just as bad for them?  To me, it makes perfect sense because there is too much competition on a Saturday afternoon from 10 miles down the road, so hopefully if the first game is a success we will be able to try it out."

Steven Hammell came on as a second-half substitute for Scotland's Under-21s in this afternoon's match against in Poland.  The home side won 1-0.
