The Under-21s were gubbed 5-0 by Celtic's Under-21s at Fir Park tonight.  Sounds like the young 'Well side, with nine of the eleven still eligible for Under 20 level, took a bit of a doing from a much more experienced outfit.

Team: Woods, Bell, Clarke, MacDonald, Quinn, Kiniburgh, Wright (Scott), Black, Clarkson (Barkey, Offiong, Pearson (Crawley).
Subs not used: Ewings, Higgins.

Paul Quinn, David Clarkson and Kenneth Wright have all been selected for two Scotland Under 19 games against Iceland next week.  The matches are at Forthbank Stadium, Stirling on Tuesday and Recreation Park, Alloa on Thursday.

The bar in the Davie Cooper Suite will be open from 3:30pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, to allow fans to relive the 90mins of the cup semi-final on the big screen.  Depending on the result, you may prefer to drown your sorrows!

If, like me, you were expecting the SPL to annouce the fixtures for the remainder of the season today, then I'm afraid you're going to have a wait a little while longer. The post-split fixtures will not be announced until the date of the last Old Firm game of the season is finally agreed. An SPL spokesman is quoted as saying:
"Celtic have requested a review of the date for the forthcoming Old Firm fixture as is their right. This will now be done at an SPL board meeting on Thursday, April 17. The final batch of fixtures will be announced thereafter."

Anyone else notice the article on the Davie Cooper Memorial Wall in yesterday's match programme?  Apparently the club plan to errect a wall in memory of the great man, whereby supporters can pay £25 to buy a brick complete with a personal message.  Nothing wrong with that, I hear you say.  However, the article goes on to state the following...

"In the event of the club relocating from Fir Park, the memorial wall would be recreated at our new ground."

Now this could of course be coincidence, but it was announced recently that North Lanarkshire Council have been granted outline planning permission to build a 10,000 capacity sports stadium as part of the Ravenscraig development.  I know this sounds like a conspiracy theory, but one rumour doing the rounds is that John Boyle plans to sell Fir Park and relocate the club to this new stadium, which would be leased to us by NLC similar to the arrangement they have with Clyde FC and Broadwood...

With the above in mind, be sure to cast your vote in our new Opinion Poll:

Would YOU be in favour of the club moving from Fir Park to a new stadium at Ravenscraig?
