Ricky's report of the Scottish Cup Semi-final is now available.
Some more post-match reaction from yesterday. First up,
Stephen Pearson in the Sunday Mail defends team-mate David Clarkson after the
17-year-old missed a golden opportunity to put us 3-1 at half-time: "There's not much the gaffer can say to us, the boys are so disheartened in the dressing-room. We were outstanding and no-one can be faulted for the effort they put in. To lose an early goal then come back and get in front against Rangers was magnificent. We dominated the first half but gave away silly goals that proved costly. "I was pleased with my performance but that doesn't count for anything because we lost and I'm gutted. It's nice to know I had a good match but everyone in the team was magnificent. It has been a great day out for everyone connected with the club and we were glad to have been here. The fans were brilliant all day but now we have six crucial league games to think about and must focus on them. A lot of the boys had not played at Hampden and it was a tremendous experience. We will take the positives out of it and try and apply it to our remaining matches. "We have beaten everyone in the top six but struggled against the rest and that's something we have to rectify. We have Partick Thistle on Saturday and Dundee United the following week and these matches are vitals. It won't be hard to lift ourselves after our display against Rangers. It can only spur us on for our next games which in a sense are even bigger. We must start picking up points that will keep us safe. Every match from now to the end of the season is a cup final, even though we haven't made it through here." 'Well boss Terry Butcher: "I don’t mind people talking about McFadden as it means he is doing something right. But you’ve got to remember that this is his first full season, and like everyone else in the side he needs to take this form into the last six games. "But it was great for our younger players they can now look forward, and it was fantastic for us with an incredible support behind us. "We can’t afford a hangover from this game into the next games, this should be an excellent boost for our younger players. "We asked the players at half time to keep it tight but we knew that they would things at us. Thomson made a difference when he came on and they stepped up a gear and blew us away but at least we kept going."
James McFadden has been nominated for the SPFA Young Player of the Year award, along with Maloney (Celtic), Miller (Falkirk) and Murray (Hibs).
