10pm Tonight's result: Motherwell 0, Kilmarnock 1. We somehow contrived to lose to a very ordinary Kilmarnock team tonight despite easily being the better side throughout the 90 mins. The visitors were rarely seen as an attacking force and it was Motherwell who did all the pressing, yet just when it looked like we'd have to settle for a point, Killie substitute Nish headed home from a last minute corner to give the Ayrshire side a completely underserved three points. Just as well it doesn't really matter anymore, eh? Roll on the end of the season. Team (4-4-2): Graeme Smith (Meldrum 56), Corrigan, Craigan, Reynolds,
Murphy, Darren Smith, Kerr, Vadocz, Paterson (Molloy 74), McDonald,
Keegan (Clarkson 80). Booked: McDonald. Attendance: 3,784. Today's Daily Star reports that Motherwell are among several clubs interested in taking Celtic defender John Kennedy on a season long loan. Cast your vote in our new Opinion Poll: Should Scott McDonald play for Motherwell FC again? |
