The Under-21s beat their Hearts counterparts 1-0 at Tynecastle last night, thanks to a Lee Makel goal.

Stevie Hammell has been called into the Scotland Under-21 squad for the upcoming matches against Croatia and Belgium.

We've received a fair bit of correspondence since our emergency poll went online at the weekend.  Here are just a few of the emails that have been sent to me...

I must admit that the result in Aberdeen was dire, however, isn't it a bit early to be calling for resignation of the manager? Dunfermline was a shocker also but probably a freak result, we should have beaten United and Kilmarnock were head and shoulders above us last year. As far as Livingston go, they have already drawn with both Rangers and Celtic 0-0, what chance do we have of scoring against them?

From all accounts the atmosphere in the dressing room is good and there is a healthy respect of for the manager, therefore what difference would a new manager make to the same group of players? Don't forget that we lost half the team last year and it takes a wee bit of time for things to gel.

That being said I'm in Jakarta and don't have to put up with watching the Well every week although I was at the United game as I was back on holiday and I wasn't filled with hope for the season, then again United were pish too and they've just beaten Dunfermline!

Anyway, thought that I'd just write as I notice that I'm the only one out of six so far that has said that BD should not resign, to me that is appalling, what is it with Motherwell fans that has the moaning and calling for the Manager's head all the time? How many times were the words "resign McLean" echoed around Fir Park during wee Tommy's reign when things were not going to plan? He took a pile of pish and made it into cup winners and almost league winners and it took him a long time.

Remember that.

and...

I was just reading the web page and saw that there is a poll for the little w****r to be sacked.  This is too little too late. The little s***e should have been sacked last year. I was at Aberdeen on Saturday and it was disgraceful. Kelly, Brown and Dow are our only decent players.  Roberto Martinez is shocking.  He's slower than a week in jail and Ready is the worst centre-half I've ever seen at Fir Park. He makes Ouiefio look good. But lets see. Who signed all these w****rs? Yes that's right the little w****r himself. We (speaking for myself and my mates) are fed up of excuses. Its time for well fans to make sure the club stays in the Premier and the only way to do that is for the little w****r to get sacked. He should be booted out alongside Philliben, Krivokapic and whoever recommended Karl Ready. 2 points from 4 games is not acceptable under any circumstances and anybody who says different is talking s***e.  P.S. Watch out for the banner on Saturday.  I think you will be able to see it.

and...

Does anyone think Martin Corrigan defends well?  On Saturday he clearly failed to prevent the cross which 'ever-Ready' assisted for Winters to score.  On other occasions last season he was responsible for failing to cut out crosses which resulted in goals being conceded. The midfield clearly lacks power and pace and is not balanced and this is causing undue pressure on the defence.  Why does a Scotland cap then prevent James McFadden from a game in the team, or has anyone noticed that the promising youngsters are being excluded for the new players.?  This despite the manager's insistence that this is the future of the club,  A bit of double speak here I think from BD.  Why is the club coached by two centre backs but can't get the one's we have to play anything like decent defenders?

Are Pat Nevin and Billy Davies just telling us stories we like to hear when they tell us that 2 or 3 players are about to be signed as this keeps the fans interested instead of disappearing off the terraces?  More importantly are we going to get players that really improve the team because if the current staff can't see that it's not working then what chance do we have.  Surely it's only a short matter of time until John Boyle finds out novices don't succeed in football.  Maybe Tommy Burns and Billy Stark would get better results because I don't think they would buy from Asda as badly as BD has.
