Two Motherwell players are on international duty at the weekend, with Stuart Elliott in the Northern Ireland squad for their World Cup ties with Denmark and Iceland and Stevie Hammell in the Scotland Under-21 squad for the matches against Croatia and Belgium.
Our next away game, against Rangers at Ibrox, has been put back 24 hours to Sunday September 16 with a 3pm kick-off due to Rangers involvement in the UEFA Cup the previous Thursday.
Pat Nevin has dismissed reports that former Tranmere player Steve Mungall is set to be named as the club's new Youth Development officer. Mungall is among a number of candidates who have been interviewed, including former 'Well striker Tommy Coyne, but a final short list has still to be drawn up. Nevin added that Luc Nijholt, who had also been linked with the post, had not been interviewed.
Motherwell have lost out on recent trialist Lee Makel, as the former Hearts midfielder has signed a two-month contract with Bradford City.
The Under-21s drew 2-2 with Hibs at Fir Park on Monday night, with both goals coming from James McFadden.
