The Official AFC Bournemouth site reports that central defender Graeme Mathis has signed for Motherwell after being released by the English side at the end of last season.  He has signed a 1-year contract initially, and is expected to turn out for the Under-21s tonight against Dunfermline at East End Park, alongside Kevin Gallacher and possibly Danial Sengewald.

Reports this morning suggest that former Scotland internationalist Kevin Gallacher will sign for us today.  The former Newcastle and Blackburn striker played under Terry Butcher at Coventry and has recently been training with Huddersfield Town.  Butcher was quoted last night as saying:
"He's coming up tomorrow to sign.  I got a call from Kevin Drinkell so we'll see what kind of shape he's in.  He'll join a rare group of players who have been managed by me on two occasions."

Meanwhile, it was been revealed that we have signed Spurs striker Stevie Ferguson on-loan until January.  The 20-year-old, who previously served East Fife, came on as a substitute in yesterday's 1-1 draw at Tannadice.

Time for a new opinion poll!

Can Motherwell avoid the drop this season?
