The BBC website confirms the details of our three new signings.  And they are..

  • Graeme Mathie (19), a left-sided defender who was previously at Bournemouth

  • Ian Russell (19), a midfielder/striker from Rangers

  • David Cowan (20), a defender/midfielder from Newcastle

All three have signed one-year contracts, but none of them will feature in tomorrow's game against Hibs.

James McFadden, Stevie Hammell and Stephen Pearson have all been named in the Scotland Under-21 squad for next week's friendlies with Israel and Northern Ireland.  The Israel game will take place at The Ballast Stadium, Hamilton on Sept 4 and the N Ireland game at Love Street two days later.

It's been confirmed that we've missed out on Kevin Gallacher, as the former Scotland internationalist has signed for Huddersfield on a non-contract basis.

Time for a new opinion poll!

Can Motherwell avoid the drop this season?
