Reports tonight confirm that we have signed French midfielder Yann Soloy on a one-month contract with a view to a permanent deal.  The 31-year-old former Le Harve player has obviously impressed Eric Black during his recent trial period and has now been given the opportunity to secure a longer contract.  Black said:
"Yann Soloy has today signed for a month and we'll see how that goes.  He has signed after we looked at him for a week or so.  We liked the look of what we saw and decided to take the step.  He now has the opportunity over the next month's contract to show us what he can do and we'll see where it leads.

"Yann is a midfield player who can play in four or five positions.  He is a very experienced player with over 100 games in the French First and Second Divisions and he brings experience to the team.  What he also gives us is cover right across the midfield area and, hopefully, he can go on and improve us and take this opportunity to impress."

Black also revealed that he was close to signing a new striker:
"We've been trying to get a new striker to be fair.  We have been following quite a few leads.  I'm hoping that, by the end of the week or early next week, we will be able to get someone in.  We'll continue to have a look, but at this moment in time we are not any closer to signing anyone."
