Speaking after today's match at Easter Road, Eric Black admitted he was happy to
leave with a point and praised he players for their fighting spirit: One other point. I am reliably informed that there were in fact exactly 251 'Well fans at the game today, plus two in the press box. Or so Hibs claim...
Today's game at Easter Road ended in a 1-1 draw. Hibs took the lead after only 6 mins and Ricky informs me that they had by far the better of the first half and could have added a few more goals, although we began to come into the match a bit more as the interval approached. Motherwell controlled the second half and grabbed a deserved equaliser after 83 mins through Stuart Elliott. A point apiece was probably a fair result. According to Ricky, Eric Deloumeaux was outstanding at the back for us. Ricky also says that there were only around 100 'Well fans at the match.
One of this morning's tabloids reports that we have signed 16-year-old attacking midfielder Steven Matheson from Rothes. Apparently Matheson is rated a major prospect by youth coach George Adams and he also impressed Eric Black during a three-day trial last week. It is understood that we paid a four-figure fee for the youngster. Meanwhile, another report suggests that Eric Black has recruited former Celtic manager Dr Jo Venglos to perform some scouting duties for us.
