8.35pm Today's result: Inverness CT 0, Motherwell 1. Richie Foran's late penalty gave us all three points in the Highlands this afternoon. Sounds like it was a poor game with few chances for either side, but when Scott McDonald was upended in the box in the final minute it was left to Foran to score his third penalty in two games and seal the three points that move us up to 9th in the table. Good to see Stephen Craigan back in the side, although Keith Lasley suffered a knee injury and could be out for two months. Team (4-4-2): Meldrum, Quinn, Craigan (Kinniburgh 89), Reynolds,
Paterson, McGarry, Lasley (Corrigan 74), Kerr, Foran, Clarkson (Elliot
72), McDonald. Scorer: Foran (89). Booked: Lasley. Attendance: 3,668. Maurice Malpas spoke about the injury to Keith Lasley after the
match: MM was delighted with the final outcome of the match however: Maurice Malpas insists more trialists could follow Richie Baker to
Fir Park as the Motherwell boss looks to make a decision on the Irishman: "There are one or two others we are quite keen to get in. There are a couple of trialists we will be looking at. It is important we look at them in our environment. I have seen them in their environment, having watched them play. We can get a better judgment when they are up against our own players." |
