Today's result: Inverness CT 0, Motherwell 1.

Richie Foran's late penalty gave us all three points in the Highlands this afternoon.  Sounds like it was a poor game with few chances for either side, but when Scott McDonald was upended in the box in the final minute it was left to Foran to score his third penalty in two games and seal the three points that move us up to 9th in the table.  Good to see Stephen Craigan back in the side, although Keith Lasley suffered a knee injury and could be out for two months.

Team (4-4-2): Meldrum, Quinn, Craigan (Kinniburgh 89), Reynolds, Paterson, McGarry, Lasley (Corrigan 74), Kerr, Foran, Clarkson (Elliot 72), McDonald.
Subs not used: Smith, Fitzpatrick, Darren Lee Smith, Connolly.

Scorer: Foran (89).

Booked: Lasley.

Attendance: 3,668.

Maurice Malpas spoke about the injury to Keith Lasley after the match:
"It is a big disappointment and he could be out for a couple of months, but, hopefully, it is only ligament damage and not cartilage.  I think he hurt himself in a tackle during the first half and got it iced at half-time.  But he has hurt himself even worse and it is a blow because we need our best players fit and he had been performing well with Brian Kerr."

MM was delighted with the final outcome of the match however:
"I am delighted with the result.  I wouldn't say it was a classic but it was a battling performance at a difficult place to get a victory and we got our rewards with the penalty."

Maurice Malpas insists more trialists could follow Richie Baker to Fir Park as the Motherwell boss looks to make a decision on the Irishman:
"He is just here for a week and we will make our decision.  There is no great rush with the transfer window not open until January. We will decide in the next week or so.

"There are one or two others we are quite keen to get in. There are a couple of trialists we will be looking at.  It is important we look at them in our environment.  I have seen them in their environment, having watched them play. We can get a better judgment when they are up against our own players."
