2.45pm

Got my cup final tickets yesterday! :)  I'm in row YY of section G1 in the East Stand, which according to this Hampden seating plan is directly behind the goal.

Quick reminder of the ticket sales details:

  • Season ticket holders have until tomorrow at 3pm to purchase up to four tickets by producing voucher 5 from their season ticket book.

  • Tickets will then go on sale between Monday and Thursday for supporters who collected the two vouchers distributed at the recent home matches against Hearts and Hibs.  Again, up to 4 tickets can be purchased.

  • Any remaining tickets will then go on general sale from Friday March 4 onwards.

We received an allocation of 15,3000, with tickets priced at £22 for the lower tier of the South Stand and £18 for the East Stand (behind the goal).  Apparently we've sold almost half our allocation already.

As reported earlier, the Cup Final will be a tribute to the late Davie Cooper, who played for both clubs and died 10 years ago.  His picture appears on the tickets (thankfully wearing a neutral shirt & tie and not a Rangers strip), and a percentage of programme sales will go towards the establishment of a centre for special-needs children on the site where Clydebank's Davie Cooper Stadium would have been built had the club survived.  Scottish Football League secretary Peter Donald is quoted as saying:
"It is only appropriate that we pay tribute to his talent.  Davie Cooper was a superb ambassador for Scottish football.  We have a tradition of producing skilful wingers and he was up there with the very best. He played in eight League Cup Finals, winning seven times.  On the 10th anniversary of his death, it is apt that we recognise the special contribution he made to both finalists during his career."

The club will be re-opening their shop in the town centre to sell Cup Final merchandise in the lead up to March 20th.

Young Motherwell striker Darren Smith has been called up to the Scotland Under-17 squad for a two International matches to be played in Northern Ireland next week.

The referee for our midweek match at Dunfermline will be Willie Young.
