Yesterday's result: Kilmarnock 2, Motherwell 0.

Bit of a strange game last night, in that we didn't play particularly well but yet still created numerous good chances, including two efforts that came back off the woodwork.  But yet again we gave away cheap goals, the first resulting from simply a long punt up the park and the second coming after a rare error by Graeme Smith.  New signing Abel Thermeus managed to get himself sent off for retaliation just 15 mins or so after coming on as a sub, and although a red card was harsh he was stupid to get himself involved in the first place.  The defeat leaves us still looking for our first win of 2006, and with both Aberdeen and ICT picking up points it looks as though our season is already petering out with a top six place appearing beyond our reach.  Bit of a guff night all round really.

You can read Ricky's report of the match here.

Terry Butcher has revealed that the club plan to appeal to the SFA against the red card awarded to Abel Thermeus last night:
"We will be appealing Abel Thermeus' sending off as we don't feel that the incident merited a red card.  We will now leave it in the hands of the SFA review panel."

And of the game itself, TB said:
"We made a lot of chances and played some great football, but we're just not getting any breaks.  Sooner or later, we are going to hammer someone."

A total smoking ban will come into force at Fir Park on March 20.  Hurrah!
