Last night's result: Aberdeen 1, Motherwell 1.

Wasn't at the game, but I'd have settled for a point beforehand.  Sounds like we didn't play particularly well and had to rely on Graeme Smith to keep us in the game at times, although we could conceivably have won it had Chris Porter not missed a late penalty.  As it was, substitute Darren Smith equalised Zander Diamond's opener with a 20 yard shot just seven minutes from time.  With Dundee Utd dropping two points at home to St Mirren, we're still well in contention for 3rd place.

Team (4-3-3): Graeme Smith, Quinn, Craigan, Reynolds, Hammell, Lasley, Hughes, Lappin (Fitzpatrick 59), Porter, McCormack (Darren Smith 70), Clarkson (Jamie Murphy 79).
Subs Not Used: Daniels, Brian McLean, Malcolm, Archdeacon.

Motherwell scorer: Darren Smith (83).

Booked: Quinn.

Attendance: 8,240.

Mark McGhee's post-match comments were as follows:
"It was a massive point for us and one of 15 points I think we needed before tonight. I now think we need 14 points to get third spot.

"The young players that came on, Jamie Murphy and Darren Smith, brought a little bit of energy that we had been lacking for most of the game.  I do have an explanation for it because we've had a busy schedule and the weather has been so bad at home that the training programme has been a shambles.  We have not been able to train properly, and we've been limited day in and day out in where and when we can train.  I think that affected us and you could see the signs of that because we didn't look as sharp as we have done."
