The draw for the 3rd Round of the Tennents Scottish Cup was made this afternoon, and Motherwell will travel to face Kilmarnock on Saturday, January 25. A tricky tie, but Rugby Park is a venue we traditionally do quite well at. We will visit there the following Wednesday (Jan 29th) in a Premier League match. Come on ye 'Well!
Today's Sun reports that Terry Butcher is set to open talks with Italian defender Daniele Chiarini about an 18-month contract. The ex-Udinese player was with Partick Thistle recently, but left Firhill as the Glasgow side wouldn't break their pay structure to hand him a longer term contract. Greek side Iraklis and Serie A outfit Brescia are also interested, but Chiarini is apparently keen to stay in Scotland.
Reports suggest that James McFadden was watched on Thursday by Everton manager David Moyes, along with scouts from Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal.
