Motherwell's move for Jim Hamilton is back on, and the Livingston striker is expected to sign a two-and-a-half year contract at Fir Park tomorrow after passing a medical this afternoon.  The 28-year-old, who has already played for six different SPL clubs, has scored seven times this season but will in ineligible for the League Cup semi final.

Oh well, he's better than Gerry Britton I suppose...

We have also signed youth player John Kane, a central defender from Hibernian.

Newspaper reports this morning were linking us with former Falkirk and Livingston striker Marino Keith, although the imminent signing of Jim Hamilton has probably put paid to that particular move (assuming there was any truth in it in the first place).

Another rumour is that we are back in for Livingston midfielder Craig Easton.

David Partridge has been called up to the Wales squad for their friendly with Hungary on February 9.  Partridge obviously impressed Wales boss John Toshack with his performance against Celtic last Saturday.

Scott Leitch will return to the side to face Hibs following his one-match suspension, and Phil O'Donnell could also be back after injury.

The club have arranged a friendly against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Saturday, February 5.  Admission is £10 and kick-off is at 2pm for a match made possible after both sides made early exits from the Scottish Cup.

Referee for the League Cup semi final against Hearts next Tuesday is Dougie McDonald.
