Mark McGhee has been busy on transfer deadline day:

  • As we reported on our Rumours page, Stevie Hammell has rejoined the club from Southend for £110,000.  The 25-year-old left-back has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal.
  • Moving in the other direction is Jim Paterson, who has joined Plymouth for £250,000.  Not a bad bit of business really, given that his contract was up in the summer.
  • Former St Mirren midfielder Simon Lappin has signed on loan from Norwich for the remainder of the season with a view to a permanent transfer.

Meanwhile,  Sky Sports News are reporting that Bob Malcolm has been released by Derby, and Mark McGhee is interested in signing him.  Shudder!

Reports suggest that there will be a pitch inspection at 12 noon tomorrow.  In the extremely unlikely event that the Dundee game is postponed (ha!) it will be rearranged for Tuesday, February 5 (although don't hold your breath for the pitch being playable by then either).
