Yesterday's Scottish Cup tie at Inverurie was called off on Friday due to a frozen pitch, and will now take place on Wednesday, January 21. Don't see what was wrong with rescheduling it for this coming midweek, as with Mrs Reid due to give birth just 4 days later then there's no way I'll be able to attend the rearranged fixture. Should we get past Inverurie then we'll face a home time against either Brechin or St Mirren in the Fifth Round, with the tie scheduled for Saturday, February 7. However, I get an awful feeling we could still be trying to get the Inverurie match played by then. I think last Wednesday night's match against Hearts is what you might call "winning ugly". Other than our goal (a header from Hearts' target Chris Porter on eleven minutes), I can't remember another effort on goal from either side. Still, the result was more important than the performance, and we're now just three points off the top six. Team (4-4-2): Graeme Smith, Quinn, Craigan, Reynolds, Hammell, Klimpl,
O'Brien (Murphy 87), Lasley, Hughes, Porter (Darren Smith 86), Clarkson. Scorer: Porter (11). Booked: Craigan. Inverness CT have turned down an approach from Motherwell for midfielder Don Cowie. The Highlanders say they're not interested in a swap deal. Wonder who McGhee offered them...? Chris Porter talks about the latest transfer speculation surrounding him here. |
