Terry Butcher has resigned himself to losing midfielder Stephen Pearson after the 20-year-old handed in a transfer request, but insists he won't be sold on the cheap:
"It's disappointing that Stephen has handed in a transfer request but he wants to test himself in the Premiership.  It's a big chance but the money that has been offered comes nowhere close to our valuation and the ball is now in Leicester's court.  He played well but like the rest of the lads he is still working on his sharpness."

It's believed that Leicester's offer was £150,000 upfront with another £100,000 depending on appearances.  Speaking on Radio Scotland yesterday, TB described the bid as "derisory".

The Scotsman has an interesting article on Bryan Jackson, in which the Motherwell administrator admits that goodwill towards the club from other SPL sides is in short supply.
