Quick update on the Pearson situation. His agent said today that the
midfielder's proposed move to Leicester City is doomed if Motherwell hold out
for a £400,000 fee, as the Premiership side will not pay more than £325,000:
Meanwhile, Martyn Corrigan is hopeful of an improved Motherwell
performance at Ayr on Saturday following two disappointing draws against
Hamilton and Stenhousemuir: "We're all looking forward to the start of the new season and hopefully giving a good account of ourselves. The manager has brought in a few new faces over the summer to improve the team. Gordon Marshall is a very experienced keeper and Alex Burns and Stephen Craigan both played very well for Partick Thistle last term, so I'm sure they'll all do well here. We've already got some very good players at this club and what we went through last season will help us. We don't want to end up in the same position again, that's for sure. Our aim is to make a good start to the new season and take things from there, but there is a positive feeling at the club."
