Tonight's result: Airdrie 0, Motherwell 2.

This evening's friendly match at New Broomfield ended in a comfortable 2-0 win for the visitors, with David Clarkson getting both our goals. Not really much of a game, but it was another good workout for the team with Clarkson in particular causing the Airdrie defence no end of trouble with his pace. The defence also looked solid, with new signing Graeme Smith not really having much to do in goal.

Team (4-4-2, and I apologise for my lack of knowledge when it comes to our subs):
Smith, Quinn, Craigan, Kinniburgh (sub?), Hammell (Mark Quinn 45), Paterson (Smith), O'Donnell (Fagan 45), Leitch, Fitzpatrick, Hamilton (sub?), Clarkson.

The SPL have confirmed that our supposed first away game of the season at Dunfermline on Aug 6 has been moved to Fir Park, as the Pars are presently replacing their astroturf pitch with grass.

The Motherwell Times reports that Martyn Corrigan will miss the Celtic game on the opening day of the season as he is struggling with a knee injury. Maurice Malpas is also quoted as saying that there is buget available for one further new signing.

Terry Butcher has arrived back from Australia after trying to arrange a feeder club agreement with Aussie side Sorrento.
