Yesterday's result: Motherwell 0, Nottingham Forest 0.

I stupidly broke my promise never to attend another friendly match by going along to Fir Park yesterday.  However, even as far as pre-season matches go, this was absolutely awful with no shots on target from either side as far as I can remember.  Clubs really have a cheek charging money for matches like this when there is zero entertainment on offer, and at the very least season tickets should have been valid.

Oh well, at least that's all the pre-season nonsense over with, and we can look forward to the proper stuff starting next week.

Team (4-4-2): G. Smith, Quinn (Corrigan 45), Paterson (Molloy 57), Reynolds (Kinniburgh 45), McLean (Craigan 45), McGarry (Murphy 45), Lasley (D. Smith 45), Clarkson (Mensing 45), Porter, McCormack (Connolly 75), Fitzpatrick (O’Donnell 45).
Subs not used: Nixon, Martin.

Mark McGhee's post-match comments were as follows:
"It was another good work out, I had a good look at everyone in two different systems. We now have questions to go and answer and decisions to make this week.

"I think pre-season ended as of now and the season starts tomorrow and we have to get on with it.

"We need another goalkeeper, a left winger and probably another centre forward if we play the likes of Steven McGarry in midfield and if we are going top play with three centre forwards. We need to have someone to come off the bench or if we change it and three or four are still needed."

Check out this Scotland on Sunday article in which McGhee claims the squad of players he inherited were unfit.  Also, sounds like the Adam Virgo thing has been put on the back burner.

The Sunday Mail has got hold of the story that St Mirren have forced the WTFC Claret and Amber Day planned for next Saturday at Love St to be cancelled.
