Our esteemed captain has been given 150 hours of community service after assaulting a man in a Glasgow nightclub at Ross McCormack's 21st birthday party.  Full details from  BBC News.

Quinn fears being stripped of the club captaincy following his off the field altercations, and expects to learn his fate when the players return for pre-season training on Thursday.  He said last week:
"I want to be his captain and a main part of what he is going to achieve here.

"I'm not fearing it.  As far as I'm concerned, I will come back in as the captain until the manager says otherwise.  But, if I'm stripped of the captaincy, I can have no complaints.  If I keep it then it will be because I did well apart from that mishap.   I will just take it as it comes and hopefully the manager will make the right decision.

"The manager doesn't hold grudges.   Obviously I know that I need to work hard to get another wee bit of his trust back and show him that it was a misunderstanding.   I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and that is the only way I can describe it.  The manager had spoken to me months before it happened about places like that, so I can see why he was irritated and upset by it. He was right all along."

Ross McCormack has joined Championship side Cardiff City after turning down advances from Nottingham Forest and also knocking back a new contract offer from Motherwell.  If newspaper reports are to be believed, he'll be earning around four or five times his current salary at Cardiff.  As McCormack is under the age of 24, Motherwell will receive compensation, believed to be in the region of £50,000.

The new home kit will be available to purchase at the 'Well Shop and online from Thursday onwards.

One tabloid last week linked us with a move for Rangers striker Alan Gow.

Strangely, the Villarreal website is reporting that they'll be playing Zaragoza on Aug 2nd, the day they were supposed to be at Fir Park for the renaming of the Main Stand.  Click on "English" then "Competitions" and navigate to August.
