The rumours suggesting that Motherwell are
interested in St Mirren's Ricky Gillies show no sign of letting up, and
today's Sunday Mail gets in on the act. The Mail reports that
Hibs, Hearts and Wallsall are also tracking the 24-year-old, who
reportedly has a release clause in his contract allowing him to leave for
£100,000. Gillies is keen to quit Love Street following St Mirren's
relegation and is quoted as saying: "Last season was a big disappointment. We had just started to find our feet and learn how not to lose games when it was too late. At the start of the season I was low in confidence because of what I had been through at Aberdeen and at times was hiding during games. But my self belief came back after a couple of months and I was pleased to score 11 goals from the middle of the park, which isn't easy in a side fighting relegation. But if nothing happens on the transfer front I will have no problem staying at St Mirren and helping us bounce straight back up. I have a great relationship with the manager, my team-mates and our fans." |
