Today's local press contains details of the club's season ticket drive, which was launched at Fir Park yesterday.  Prices have been confirmed as follows:

Fans who purchase season tickets for next year will be able to watch the team for as little as £7.50 a game, making Motherwell the cheapest team to follow in the SPL.  And an adult buying a season ticket for the Davie Cooper Stand can take up to five children into the family section.

Speaking at the launch, club administrator Bryan Jackson encouraged fans to purchase their season tickets as soon as they go on sale:
"The season ticket prices at Motherwell are the best value in Scottish football.  Money raised from the sale of season tickets will go into a trust account where it will be used to help secure the future of the club.  A healthy sale of season tickets will help the club meet the challenges we face next season."

James McFadden also attended the launch, and added:
"Motherwell has got to start next season where we left off. Despite the difficulties the club was facing, everyone rallied round.  We finished strongly on the pitch and off it the supporters were absolutely brilliant in the way they turned out an got behind the team.  We’ve got to keep that up next season and we need as many supporters as we can to commit themselves to next season’s campaign.  We’ve got to prove ourselves on the pitch and let people know we have a strong support. That way we’ll show that we’re a club that’s well worth saving."

Meanwhile, Bryan Jackson has confirmed that the club will be unable to sign new players in the immediate future:
"There is absolutely no question of Motherwell Football Club signing new players in the foreseeable future, unless others leave the club to make way for them - and that is almost certainly not on the agenda.  If there is a significant change in fortunes for the club in relation to season ticket sales ore television revenues then we may be in a position to change our outlook.

"The club manager, Terry Butcher, the board of directors, and myself are committed to maintaining as strong a squad as possible for the new season and we have great faith in the playing squad as it stands.  We cannot sign new players when others have lost their jobs or have had to take pay cuts to help ensure the survival of the club.

"If the squad is depleted further then we may have to replace the people who leave the club.  We have one player on the transfer list who could be replaced, if sold, but that’s as far as it goes.  We cannot increase either the squad size or the wages bill at Motherwell just now. It’s as simple as that"

Yesterday's news - new strips unveiled!

Don't forget about the 'Well Worth Saving public meeting to be held in Majestic (the Old Town Hall) at 7.30pm on Tuesday, June 18th.  The main purpose of the meeting is to confirm the constitution for the formation of a Supporters Trust but don't worry, the bar WILL be open.
