Teletext reports that we are looking to sign new players, despite making 19 players redundant in April when we went into administration.  Alisdair Barron is quoted as saying:
"The decision that we have taken means that the administrator is dealing with a very reliable operation at the moment.  I think we have a school of talent here that will enable us to compete in the new season.  But we are also looking to enhance that with one or two seasoned appointments.

"I think we have to look at the market place. The realism that has struck European football let alone Scottish football means there is going to be a whole number of players available under the Bosman Ruling."

However, the decision on which players to sign will be left to Terry Butcher, who is currently on pundit duty at the World Cup.

Alisdair Barron also responded to the recent reports that Bolton Wanderers had made a £200,000 offer for James McFadden:
"The board has determined that there is no imperative to sell players. We are looking to build a strong team for a successful season.  We have had expressions of interest in McFadden but not from Bolton. We have not received one reasonable offer for any of our players."

Administrator Bryan Jackson added:
"Two hundred thousand pounds for McFadden would be a fire sale. We are not seeking offers.

"No deadlines have been set yet for buyers, but it is likely a closing date will be set in a few weeks time."
