One of this morning's tabloids reports that James McFadden and Keith Lasley have both signed new, improved contracts in an attempt to dissuade any interest from English Premiership clubs. McFadden, who at 18 was still on his current YTS contract, has signed an improved three-year deal that will keep him at Fir Park until 2005. Faddy was watched by Leeds scout Mike Jackson several times but has heeded his manager's advice to stay with Motherwell. Meanwhile, Lasley (22) has signed a new contract that will tie him to Motherwell until 2004.
