10.10pm Tonight's result: Motherwell 0, Aberdeen 2. Another defeat. This was much like the Hearts game last week, in that Aberdeen won without really breaking sweat. The first half was garbage, with Motherwell seemingly unable to string more than two passes together and never really troubling the Aberdeen goal. The visitors deservedly went in 1-0 up at the interval courtesy of a spectacular Marc Fitzpatrick o.g. I think he was trying to clear a flick on, but succeeded only in lifting the ball over the advancing Graeme Smith and into the net. To be fair, the second half was better (not saying much I know) and we dominated possession for long spells. McDonald was denied by a last-ditch tackle from a defender and Vadocz hit the post, before we were hit with a sucker punch in the final minute when Foster sent a superb drive beyond Smith from around 20 yards. Roll on the end of the season. Team (4-4-2): Graeme Smith, Paterson, Craigan, Reynolds, Murphy,
McBride (Molloy 76), Kerr, Vadocz, Fitzpatrick, Clarkson (Keegan 66),
McDonald. Booked: none. Attendance: 4,530. Cast your vote in our new Opinion Poll: £150,000 for Richie Foran. A good bit of business? |
