Reports suggest that former 'Well defender Greg Strong has
turned down the chance to play in the Champions League with Norwegian side
Lillestrom, as he wants to stay and find a club in Britain. His agent is
quoted as saying:
I've been asked to publicise the following... The People’s World Cup The BBC is looking for football fans to contribute to a documentary celebrating World Cups, past and present, from the supporters’ point of view. The makers of The People’s World Cup want to get in contact with any Scottish fans who travelled to any of the previous World Cups to support Scotland. They are interested in the stories behind the stadia. Did you hitch to Argentina in 1978, did you make it to France in 1998 or where you there when Scotland first played in the finals in 1958? If you did then please get in touch, particularly if you captured your trip on a cine/video diary. The programme wants to capture the drama and excitement of the world’s biggest festival from the point of view of the most important participants: the fans. By using home movie footage it will build a unique picture of the event itself and the passion of all the home nation’s fans. Fans with footage or planning to film this year should contact the BBC on freephone 0800 0150364, e-mail documentaries@bbc.co.uk or write to The People’s World Cup, Room 5306, BBC White City, 201 Wood Lane, London W12 7TS.
