Apparently our old friend Mr Derek Townsley has been told that Hibs won't be offering him a new contract.  Tragic, eh?

Ahead of Saturday's vital match with Dundee Utd, Scott Leitch has told his young team mates that he doesn't want them feeling any pressure going into the game:
"I want to do the worrying for the young guys. In such a massive game, the good thing for us is that they will go into it as they do for every other one - as if they didn't have a care in the world. Perhaps they don't quite realise what this could mean for Motherwell, as much as us more senior guys at any rate, and I don't see that being a bad thing. They should let us take on all the pressure. I wouldn't want someone like David Clarkson, who is only 17, to feel any strain as it would do him no good. The manager said this was bigger than the Scottish Cup semi-final and I would go along with that. If we win, then we go two points ahead of United with a game in hand. They win, and we're four behind them. We don't know what is going to happen with relegation, but the one thing I do know is that I don't want to finish bottom of this league. I've never had that experience and don't want it this season."

Mind you, if this Daily Record article is anything to go by, perhaps there won't be much at stake on Saturday after all...

Apparently Stevie Hammell was withdrawn from the Scotland Under-21 squad the other night to protect his hand injury.
