'WELL SUNGLASSES Buy on-line for just £6.00

Saturday, May 8

5.45pm

Today's result: Motherwell 0, Dundee Utd 1.

I guess this game could best be described as a typical end of season match, and the fact that there was little at stake for either team certainly did not make for an entertaining encounter.  Motherwell enjoyed good spells of possession but only very rarely looked like scoring, while United contributed very little to the match other than the winning goal - an excellent curling shot from Wilson which flew over Gordon Marshall early in the second half.  Ever since qualifying for the top six the players seem to have entered holiday mode, and today was no different with most of them apparently uninterested.  The end of the season can't come soon enough for them, or for me!

Finally, despite the massive reduction in admission prices and the "bring a friend for free" initiative for season ticket holders, the attendance today was only 5,722.   Poor day all round.

Team (4-4-2): Marshall, Quinn, Craigan, Corrigan, Hammell, Fagan, Adams, Burns (Craig 81), Dair, Scott McDonald, Clarkson.
Subs not used: Corr, Kevin McDonald, Wright, Higgins.

Booked: Scott McDonald, Fagan.

Attendance: 5,722.

The Supporters' Trust presentation to Bryan Jackson and Anne Buchanan of PKF did not take place at half-time today as planned after John Boyle apparently put a stop to it (make of that what you will).  Instead, the presentation was hastily rearranged and took place in the Davie Cooper Suite after the match.
