The club are still trying to finalise their pre-season schedule, but the following list of friendlies (still unconfirmed I believe) appeared in the Wishaw Press this week:

Sat July 9 - Queen's Park (a)
Tue July 12 - Southampton (h)
Thu July 14 - Clyde (a)
Sat July 16 - Everton (h)
Sat July 23 - Queen of the South (a)

Looks like Faddy will be back at Fir Park!

A newspaper report last week linked Terry Butcher with the manager's job at Hearts (yawn, yawn), however TB was quick to quash the speculation. He said:
"I am completely unaware of any interest from Hearts and this is news to me. I have not spoken to them. Indeed, there has been no contact. I do not need to apply for any managerial positions as I have a great job as manager of Motherwell and I am perfectly happy at this club. We have finished in the top six for the past two seasons and we got to the CIS Insurance Cup Final this season so I want to continue that level of improvement. I thoroughly enjoy my job and the Hearts thing is a non-starter. It is not something I am interested in or will lose sleep over thinking about. Hearts are a big club but this is all pie in the sky as far as I am concerned."

He went on to say:
"I thought I had seen it all in football with our win against Celtic last Sunday and Liverpool's European Cup victory on Wednesday night. What an incredible end to the season we've had. I was so proud to be an Englishman watching Liverpool at the top of the Euro tree again. This week especially has shown me that nothing is impossible in football."

David Clarkson has been called into the Scotland Under-21 squad for the matches against Moldova and Belarus next month.

The club have confirmed that Barry John Corr, Alex Burns, Gerry Britton, Chris Higgins and Jamie Ewings have all been released.
