Reports suggest that Lanarkshire property developer Tom Coakley is on the verge of buying the club in a £10million deal.  Although no deal has been done yet, the Evening Times reports that:

  • Chris McCart will be appointed director of football

  • Former Motherwell administrator Bryan Jackson will take over as chairman

  • Alan Dick will return to the club as stadium manager

  • Maurice Malpas' job is safe (nooooooooooo!)

  • Coakley (worth approx £125m) will not splash the cash a la John Boyle, but instead wants the club to be self-sufficient

  • The takeover will go ahead even if we are relegated

Let's just hope he doesn't want to sell Fir Park and build houses on it...

The Motherwell Times reports that the groundshare with Gretna will go ahead next season even if Motherwell are in the 1st Division.
