Another trialist has arrived at Fir Park!  Joining Ralph Schmitt is former Le Havre midfielder Iwan Soloy, and both have been given a week to prove themselves to Eric Black.  

Soloy is a 31-year-old midfielder who has been with Le Havre since the 1997/98 season, having previously served Louhans-Cuiseaux and Rouen.  Further information on him is available here.

Meanwhile, Eric Black has revealed that he receives up to 300 faxes and phone calls every day relating to players available for transfer.  Speaking at today's press conference, he said:
"In terms of the striking area, we're a wee bit short.  We've really only got David Kelly and Derek Adams who are natural strikers.  Steven Nicholas can play up there and so can Stuart Elliott and Kevin Twaddle so that's maybe an area that we'll look at.  I think we have to look at every eventuality, whether that be loan deals, buying players or whether it's a free transfer.  If they're the right people to come in and make the squad stronger then we'll certainly look at them."

Looking ahead to the visit of Aberdeen on Saturday, he added:
"Aberdeen are very good just now and that's all credit to the coaches who are there.  They obviously came under a fair bit of pressure lately but, to their credit, they stuck at it and it's certainly turned around for them.  It could have been very easy to remove him and there were various times that he could have been removed. But he has come through with flying colours."

Reports suggest that we have taken Eintracht Frankfurt striker Ralph Schmitt on trial, and he could be in the team to face Aberdeen on Saturday.  The 24-year-old could win himself a permanent move if he impresses Eric Black during his trial.  

Schmitt joined Eintracht Frankfurt only last year having previously served German sides VFPR Speyer and FV Speyer.  He is 6ft 5" tall!
