Motherwell administrator Bryan Jackson today reassured fans that the club could survive even if relegated to the First Division.  He said:
"Relegation would mean cutbacks but we would be able to keep most of the same squad to try and get back out of the First Division.  We are not even thinking about relegation because I have total faith in the management team and I am confident they will turn things around.  The club is in a stable financial position - we are breaking even - and as long as that continues the club can continue even without a buyer."

"I do not have a problem with the managerial situation and there is no question of that changing.  Obviously the situation is concerning but from a financial point of view we have taken the necessary steps to break even at the end of this season.  Relegation is too early to consider and we will do all we can to support the manager and try to make money available to him for players' wages, if not transfer fees. It is a time for cool heads all round, not panic."

Today's Scotsman contains an interesting article on James McFadden.  Some positive press for a change!

John Bowbotham will referee Sunday's game at Parkhead. Oh dear...

Team news ahead of the Celtic game. Sengewald, Pearson and Partridge are all suspended, and Keith Lasley will be out for another three weeks. Dougie Ramsay is struggling with a groin injury and is unlikely to make it, while Stevie Ferguson and Dirk Lehmann picked up knocks from the Hibs game but should be passed fit. On a more positive note(?), Scott Leitch is back after his three-match ban and James McFadden will return to the starting line-up after injury.

Time for a new opinion poll!

Would YOU welcome John Boyle taking control at Fir Park again?
