Stephen Pearson made his full Scotland debut against Holland at Hampden on Saturday when he came on as a substitute for Neil McCann with 20 mins to go. I was lucky enough to be at the game and to be honest Pearo struggled to make much of an impact, although he did have one shot which went just wide late on.
Pearo's reaction after the game was as follows:
Terry Butcher said today that the increased interest in Pearo following his
Scotland cap could force the club to sell him during the January transfer
window: "We are in control of the situation because we have him under contract, so we will have to wait and see. All we can do is keep on playing him, getting him right and if he produces the form he's been showing everyone will come out as a winner."
Scotland's goalscorer on Saturday, a certain James McFadden
esquire, urged his former Motherwell team-mates to leave Fir Park when he spoke
to the press after the game:
Stevie Hammell played for Scotland Under-21s in their 2-0 defeat in Croatia last night. The return leg of the Euro Qualifier is at Easter Road tomorrow night.
Young Motherwell defender William Kinniburgh has gone on loan to First Division side Ayr Utd until January.
Well done to Ricky Mullen, Peter Elder, Geoff 'Baby' Nicholson, Keith Brown, David Tonner, David 'Frazzle' Fraser and Alan Burrows who did Motherwell proud when they appeared as the Fans of the Week on Sky's Soccer AM on Saturday. Hopefully one of them took a few photos of the Soccerette that I can stick up on the site...
