6.20pm Today's result: Kilmarnock 0, Motherwell 1. Sounds like a deserved three points at Kilmarnock today, thanks to Phil O'Donnell's deflected winner just after the interval. We're now just three points behind Hibs and Dundee Utd in joint third place, with a match against Gretna up next. Team (4-4-3): Graeme Smith, Quinn, Reynolds, Craigan, Paterson,
Lasley (Fitzpatrick 74), O'Donnell, McGarry (Hughes 67), Porter,
McCormack (Jamie Murphy 89), Clarkson. Motherwell scorer: O'Donnell (46). Booked: O'Donnell. Attendance: 5,016. Mark McGhee hailed man-of-the-match Ross McCormack's performance
after the game: The aforementioned Mr McCormack was named Young Player of the Month for October. Meanwhile, a tabloid newspaper recently linked him with a £120k move to Southend. McCormack and Graeme Smith both featured for Scotland 'B' in their midweek 1-1 with the Republic of Ireland at the Excelsior Stadium. The Celtic game scheduled for January 5 has been moved back to Sunday 6th at 2pm to accommodate Setanta television coverage. The club have opened a temporary Christmas shop in the town centre, which will be open up until Christmas Eve. Check out Matt Johnstone's new 'Well book, Peacocks and Feather Dusters, which will be available soon. The reserves went down 3-2 to their St Mirren counterparts in
midweek, with both our goals coming from Jamie Murphy. Team: Couple of new initiatives from the club. Firstly, they will soon be offering Free Tickets for Lanarkshire schoolchildren. Also, half price season tickets go on sale from Dec 3rd onwards. |
