Speaking after the game, Eric Black admitted he was more than
happy with a point: "I wasn't particularly nervous before the game but I did have a few butterflies at the anticipation of being back in the game and that's a positive sign. It's great to be back and I was very pleased with the response that we've had so far." His opposite number, Dundee United boss Alex Smith, said:
Today's match at Tannadice ended in a 1-1 draw. We went into the game without injured pair Leitch and Lasley in midfield, and it took us a while to come to terms with their absence. With Martyn Corrigan playing as a central midfielder, it was well into the first half before we settled. By this time, we were already a goal down after Easton's header appeared to be deflected pat Mark Brown. In all honestly, we were lucky to go in at the break only one goal down, but things improved in the second half and we deservedly equalised through David Kelly. We went on to have the better of the second 45 mins, and went close on several occasions and had a couple of half decent penalty claims turned down. In the end though, a point apiece was probably fair.
