Pat Nevin has confirmed that the knee injury Kevin Twaddle suffered against St Johnstone is not as serious as was first thought, and he should be back for the Celtic game a week on Saturday:
"Kevin is fine and everyone is hopeful he will be fit enough to face Celtic. I  think everyone who knows Kevin and has watched him play know he is not, in any way, a dirty player. It was just an unfortunate incident."

Speaking about the St Johnstone game in general, Nevin added:
"Although the performance was not as good as the one the players produced against Hearts it was tremendous to get all three points.  In the past, we have played better and come away with nothing, so it was good to get the win, as well as the fact we created chances.

"Stuart Elliott scored and had a number of other opportunities, and it was heartening to see Stevie Nicholas get a couple.  It was interesting that none of the chances fell to our main goalscorer David Kelly, but we are getting goals throughout the team, especially those in the forward positions and when you consider we have a few players, like Derek Adams, currently out of the team, then we have a number of players capable of taking those chances."

"Stevie (Nicholas) played well when he came in against Hearts, but was maybe slightly disappointing against Airdrie, so John and Mio decided to bring in Twadds.  Certainly, I've spent my fair share of time on the bench and I don't think you come on thinking you need to prove a point. It's just about helping the team.  Stevie has been looking good since coming in and I'm sure if he continues that type of form then he will have a good chance of playing regularly."

One of this morning's tabloids reports that former Wolves manager Colin Lee will be on the shortlist of candidates that Pat Nevin will hand to the Motherwell board tomorrow.  The 45-year-old, who was sacked for failing to win promotion to the Premiership last season,  is apparently good friends with Nevin following their time together at Chelsea.  Former Manchester United, Arsenal and Republic of Ireland star Frank Stapleton has also applied for the position, but isn't believed to be s serious contender.

Sky TV have announced their next batch of live matches, and our home match with Rangers on December 15 will now kick-off at 5.35pm to accommodate television coverage.
