Today's result: Dunfermline 0, Motherwell 3.

Typical. After suffering both of the Old Firm humpings last week I decided not to go to East End Park today. And whadaya know, Motherwell only go and win 3-0! From what I heard on the radio we were very poor in the first half and perhaps lucky to go in at 0-0. However after the break it was all Motherwell, and goals from Kerr (a 25 yarder apparently!), Corrigan and Hamilton sealed the three points. In terms of team selection, Hammell and Fagan were replaced by Quinn and O'Donnell, although Uncle Phil went of injured late on (shockeroonie!) The victory moves us back above Aberdeen and into the top six.

Team (4-4-2): Graeme Smith, Corrigan, Craigan, Kinniburgh (Fagan 75), Paul Quinn, McLean, Kerr, O'Donnell (Fitzpatrick 81), Foran, Scott McDonald, Hamilton (Clarkson 84).
Subs Not Used: Marshall, Steve McDonald, Connolly, Darren Lee Smith.

Motherwell scorers: Kerr 57, Corrigan 62, Hamilton 80.

Booked: none.

Attendance: 4,421

Terry Butcher's post-match comments were as follows:
"People may look at that scoreline and think it was a performance full of sparkling football by Motherwell, but that wasn't the case. Everything went wrong in the first half and we had to rely on Graeme's magnificent save to keep the score level at the break. Brian then scored a wonder goal at the right time, very much against the run of play and if proved to be the difference in the game. I asked the players at full-time what lifted them and they all said it was Brian's goal which gave them the confidence and belief they had been lacking. It was a terrific strike that not many goalkeepers would have stopped and it reminded me of Scott MacDonald's goal at that end of the ground last season. After Martyn Corrigan added a second, every player wanted to get on the ball and express themselves which was very nice to see. And I have to say that I am really glad I was at the match today, because now I can put it on my tombstone that I saw Martyn Corrigan score with a header!"
