Result from Saturday: Celtic 3, Motherwell 0.

Didn't make it to Parkhead at the weekend as I was down in London and then Tunbridge Wells visiting friends.  However, it sounds like the scoreline is a bit misleading as apparently we actually played quite well, especially in the first half when we created several decent chances.  Sadly, it was our old friend Scott McDonald who returned to haunt us with a hat trick, one from the penalty spot.  Oh well, I guess the result wasn't really unexpected, and at least we went there and had a go for a change.

Team (4-3-3): Graeme Smith, Quinn (Mensing 68), Reynolds, Craigan, Paterson (Fitzpatrick 53), McGarry, Lasley, Hughes (O'Donnell 10), Porter, McCormack, Clarkson.
Subs Not Used: Meldrum, Grabban, Kinniburgh, Archdeacon.

Booked: Clarkson.

Attendance: 57,633.

As for me, I had to make do with Spurs v Blackburn on Sunday...

Spurs

Mark McGhee's post-match comments were as follows:
"We could have easily been ahead in the first half, we were in behind them five times and didn't make enough of it but we needed to score first.  I don't think the outcome was ever in any doubt after they scored their first goal so close to half-time.  Our Achilles heel is crosses into the box. I feel we are always going to lose a goal from corner and eventually we did and that took the pressure off them.  That would have changed Gordon's attitude at half-time and from that point on, when you are chasing a goal against a renewed Celtic at home, you are on to a loser.  We are not big enough or aggressive enough in both boxes. It's not rocket science."

Stephen Hughes will miss tomorrow's CIS Cup tie with Rangers after tearing a hamstring against Celtic, but Jim Paterson and Paul Quinn have both recovered from knocks.

Think I'll be taking advantage of this "Curry at the Cooper" event prior to tomorrow night's game.  The £3 breakfast before the recent home game with Hibs was actually pretty good...
