Speaking after today's match, BD insisted that Rangers' penalty had been a soft award and revealed that he would be issuing fines to his ill-disciplined players:
"I would need to see it on television to be sure but one or two people felt it was a little bit soft.  I think Karl Ready was very silly, along with one or two other people. If it was dissent then I will certainly be handing out some fines.  They will get what they deserve in my opinion because it was sure stupidity.

"We had a hard day and it was made even harder when young Pearo didn't put that ball away.  They worked hard enough. You look at the quality Rangers have on the bench and in their side then it's difficult to expect anything to be honest."

4.50pm

The final score from Ibrox is 3-0 to Rangers.  Further goals from de Boer (70) and Cannigia (89) sealed a very comfortable victory for the home side, and it sounds like they should have won by a much bigger margin.  Seven Motherwell players picked up yellow cards (Ready, Leitch, Strong, Martinez, Corrigan, Pearson and Lasley) and it sounds like we were lucky to finish the match with 11 men on the pitch.  A full match report will follow later, but from listening to the game on the radio it sounded like a very dispirited performance from a Motherwell side who never threatened going forward, and as a result we find ourselves at the bottom of the league.

Ricky's comments after the game were "Davies' tactics questionable to say the least.  He's got 3 games left tops."

3.45pm

It's 1-0 to Rangers at half-time, with Tore Andre Flo the scorer after 36 mins.  It sounds as though the home side are well on top, and it could easily have been 2-0 but fortunately Mark Brown saved Russell Latapy's penalty kick after 20 mins.  Rangers also had strong claims for a second spot kick just before the interval, but fortunately the ref waved play on.  Stephen Pearson had a chance for us early on, but apart from that it sounds like it's been all Rangers and we're probably lucky to be only one goal behind.  To make matters worse, four 'Well players have already picked up yellow cards (Ready, Leitch, Strong and Martinez), and Ready was lucky to stay on the pitch after apparently punching De Boer in the face!

Our ace match reporter Ricky has just texted me from Ibrox to say that the ref is an "absolute disgrace" and Martinez is "the weakest link AGAIN."  No change there then.

The bottom of the league beckons...
