At today's press conference, BD was asked about Motherwell's reported interest in Gary McSwegan, to which he replied:
"We have been in touch with Hearts about Gary and if he becomes affordable we may go further. I also think we need at least one more player for the squad as well as a new striker. Pat and myself are working on that at the moment.

"We still have to keep working to get the best out of the likes of Tarrant. He has come up here and gave a lot but he still has to get a bit fitter and sharper for the Scottish Premier League. It is fast and furious but to be fair to him he has been working very hard

"On Saturday it is our home game and we have got to try to get something out of it. We will hopefully have an almost a full squad available. In particular it will be good to welcome Hammell and Elliott back from their respective international duties."

"I love to see these players playing for their country and I do not dwell too much on the chance of them picking up injuries. It is good that they get the recognition and I hope many more players from this club will get that sort of honour. It is also recognition for the club, so I have no problems with it as such."

Kevin Twaddle was at today's press conference, and was asked about the forthcoming match against Hibs:
"It is going to be a tough one. They have a very strong squad , good attackers and very solid at the back. With the likes of Sauzee giving Paul Fenwick the benefit of his experience.

"I played with big Paul in my days at Morton and I always thought he would go on to bigger and better things. He is part of a very good side who are well balanced and we will have to be up for it if we are going to win this one. People say they collapsed against Celtic but I think that was just a period when Celtic were on fire. They got themselves back into their stride in the second half and with their fans behind them all the way they regained their confidence."

When asked about Motherwell's tough programme in the next few weeks, Twads replied:
"Every game is hard in the SPL, there are no easy ones. Whether it is at Tannadice or at home to Rangers, they will all be very difficult as there isn't much between most of the teams."

Kevin was then asked if he had a special incentive in games against Hibs, given that he was a Hearts fans as a boy.  He replied:
"No comment! I am a Motherwell man through and through now. I am just happy not to have missed much after my injury at Aberdeen. It was very sore when it happened, but it turned out that it was just a little nerve damage and nothing more serious. The little break has done us all good, it hasn't been a distraction. In fact there is less pressure on us for this game as most people expect us to lose, with all the money Hibs have been able to spend on their team. Maybe that is just what we need to secure our first win."
