A few snippets of news you might be interested in...

  • It's been confirmed that Alex Burns will be out for five or six weeks after fracturing the third metatarsal of his right foot.

  • The Motherwell Times reports that the club owed just over £8million when we went into administration, of which £6m was owed to John Boyle.  This contradicts the figure of £10m that was being banded about in the press last week.

  • Motherwell have to date received only half of the transfer fee for James McFadden from Everton.

  • Still on the subject of Faddy, the former 'Well star played the full 90 mins of Everton's 3-0 League Cup win over Stockport last night, and according to the Official Everton site he made a very impressive full debut.

  • As far as the club's creditors are concerned, the Inland Revenue are first in the queue.  The players made redundant will be treated simply as "ordinary creditors".

  • 'Well youngsters Mark Quinn and Phil Reid have been called up to the Scotland Under-17 squad for the UEFA Championship qualifiers in Hungary next week.  Meanwhile, Mark Quinn and James Reilly represented Scotland at a recent tournament in Denmark.

  • The club are once again offering a pie and a pint for £1 in the Davie Cooper Suite immediately after the Hearts game on Saturday.
