Ricky's report of the Falkirk
game is now available.
Terry Butcher's post-match reaction was as follows:
"I wouldn't say it was our best performance of the season
but it was certainly our most emphatic. Some of them players said
they had never won 5-0 before. I am not being greedy or patronising
but we could have scored even more. I was still screaming and shouting
for more from the sidelines but it was wonderful to score five goals."
TB also revealed that Jim Hamilton is a major doubt
for the CIS Cup tie at Love Street on Tuesday.
Two-goal hero Richie Foran also believes the performance
against Falkirk was not our best of the season:
"It was brilliant. We have played pretty well this season
but we have played better. Everything we hit went in which was lucky
for us. I had a chance to get the hat-trick," he added. "But
I am not too bothered about that. I just want the team to win - it's
all about them. I am just pleased to score and if it helps the side
then I'm happy."
Foran went on to say:
"Consistency is a problem but when you've got a settled side
it is easier to get results. We have a few players coming back and
we are playing well so we can continue winning games. We've got a
big couple of weeks but the games can't come quick enough at the moment."
In one of today's papers, Gordon Marshall says he believes
this will be his last season in football and is desparate to win back
the No 1 jersey at Fir Park:
"This will probably be my last year and I don't plan to spend
it on the bench. Some guys only play six months or their career is
cut short through injury so I won't have any gripes if no-one wants
to give me a contract. There's no chance Graeme or any other young
keeper will get it easy while I'm there. I will make it as hard as
possible."
