I've been away again!  This time, for a relaxing week in the Algarve.  So what's happened while I've been away?

  • Jim Hamilton has completed his move to Dunfermline.

  • We're off to Hampden!  The draw for the 3rd round of the CIS Cup paired us with Queen's Park, with the match taking place on Wednesday, September 20 at 7.45pm.

  • The reserves have played two matches, drawing 0-0 away to Aberdeen last week and going down 3-2 to Hibs at Fir Park this afternoon. Clarkson and McCormack were on target for the 'Well second string today, however Clarkson was later stretchered off.

  • A move for Cork City left-back Danny Murphy fell through before the transfer deadline last week, although Maurice Malpas is quoted as saying:
"Cork blew us out of the water last night, their Chairman came back to us and rejected the deal.  The deal is not 100% dead and we hope that we can agree a pre-contract or come up with a gentleman's agreement to bring him here in January.  The player is keen to come to us so we don't want to miss out."

  • Stephen Craigan won his 23rd cap for Northern Ireland in their 3-0 defeat to Iceland at the weekend.

  • The home match with Hearts scheduled for Saturday, September 16 has been moved back 24 hours to the Sunday due to the Tynecastle side's involvement in the UEFA Cup.

Time for a new opinion poll

Will we struggle to avoid relegation this season?
