Yesterday's result: Motherwell 1, Rangers 1.

Sadly I missed the game as I had a funeral to attend, and it sounds like I missed a cracking match with Motherwell seemingly outstanding in the first half.  Chris Porter gave us the lead midway through the first half after being set-up by David Clarkson, but the visitors equalised after the break courtesy of a soft penalty award.  Seems we had a decent spot kick claim of our own turned down (surprise, surprise), but overall most reports  suggest a draw was probably a fair result.

Team: (4-3-3): Smith, Quinn, Reynolds, Craigan, Paterson, Lasley, Hughes, McGarry, Porter, McCormack (Fitzpatrick 83), Clarkson (Jamie Murphy 89).
Subs Not Used: Meldrum, Grabban, Kinniburgh, Mensing, Darren Smith.

Booked: Paterson, Clarkson, Reynolds, Lasley.

Motherwell scorer: Porter 24.

Attendance: 10,009.

Mark McGhee's post-match comments were as follows:
"I'm satisfied with the result but we could have had more. We had a strong appeal for a penalty and we were disappointed that the referee didn't feel it was a penalty.  We needed two goals and that's why the penalty claim was disappointing because that second goal might have seen us through.  Their penalty was a stonewall penalty and we have no arguments about that one.
