8.30am Contrary to yesterday’s reports, Motherwell administrator Bryan Jackson says the club are still in no position to sign new players: “If there is a significant change in fortunes for the club in relation to season ticket sales or television revenues, then we may be in a position to change our outlook. We cannot sign new players when others have lost their jobs or have had to take pay cuts to help ensure the survival of the club. “We have one player on the transfer list who could be replaced if sold but that is as far as it goes. We cannot increase either the squad size or the wage bill at Motherwell. It is as simple as that.” Meanwhile, a club spokesman has denied rumours that a deadline for bids has been set for 5pm today. He said: The club are set to announce a new season ticket drive next week. The latest rumour I heard was that East Stand season tickets will rise by £20.00. Congratulations to “The Preferred Bidders” (Ricky, Peter Elder, Ian Buchanan, Greig Simpson and myself), who won last night’s ‘Well Worth Saving quiz! Cast your vote in our new Opinion Poll: | |
