1.30pm In today’s local press, the club have hit back at the 19 players they made redundant before the end of the season. Of the 19 players, 10 were out of contract anyway at the end of the campaign, but the other nine each had at least another year still to go. Last week, Greg Strong announced that the nine players would be contacting the SPL with a view to taking sanctions against the club, but Motherwell spokesman Ramsay Smith (no, I don’t know who he is either) hit back, saying: The spokesman also confirmed that the club had received complaints from some of the players, and these will be discussed at the next board meeting on June 20. On the subject of a possible takeover, Smith gave the following update: Don’t forget about the ‘Well Worth Saving Quiz in the Davie Cooper Suite on Thursday night. Teams wishing to reserve a table should contact either Dave (0771 251 3997) or Matt (0790 422 5568). Cast your vote in our new Opinion Poll: | |
